The Regeneration of All Men for

The Investigative Judgment

 “The truth if received is capable of constant expansion and new developments. It will increase in brightness as we behold it, and grow in height and depth as we aspire to grasp it. Thus it will elevate us to the standard of perfection, and give us faith and trust in God as our strength for the work before us.” (Manuscript 153, 1898). {5BC 1147.3}

God intends that, even in this life, truth shall be ever unfolding to His people”. .... Whenever the people of God are growing in grace, they will be constantly obtaining a clearer understanding of His Word. They will discern new light and beauty in its sacred truths. This has been true in the history of the church in all ages, and thus it will continue to the end.” Gospel Workers, page 297.

What new unfolding truth have you heard since the death of Ellen White? Did reformation truth die with Luther in the mainline churches? Did reformation ever unfolding truth die with Ellen White in the SDA church?

Different periods in the history of the church have each been marked by the development of some special truth, adapted to the necessities of God’s people at that time. Every new truth has made its way against hatred and opposition; those who were blessed with its light were tempted and tried. The Lord gives a special truth for the people in an emergency. Who dare refuse to publish it? He commands His servants to present the last invitation of mercy to the world. They cannot remain silent, except at the peril of their souls. Christ’s ambassadors have nothing to do with consequences. They must perform their duty and leave results with God.” {GC 609.1}

Vision--December 22, 2014

The truth, history, and purposes of Regeneration are:

·       Many decades ago, the late Elder J. Wilfred Johnson, a College Professor and an Elder of the Canadian Union College Church (Now Burman University Church) for over 40 years, was given a vision on the truth of Regeneration. Mr. Johnson taught this truth in cottage meetings for many years. Those meeting were tape recorded and later transcribed in writing. You may study those writings at this link. http://www.jwilfredjohnson.com/ The persons making the type written transcriptions are still in the process of correcting their work, but it is easy to understand the essence of what Mr. Johnson is saying. In 1986, God showed me in a vision that Mr. Johnson’s findings were indeed truth. God gave me additional evidence that Mr. Johnson never taught, such as how Philadelphians in Rev. 3:10-12 are kept through the time of trouble and made pillars in the Temple, when according to Ellen White, only the 144,000 living in the final generation just before Jesus comes are about to go into that Temple,

·       The truth of Regeneration teaches that God has a template of the character of all men, and that He regenerates all men (ONE TIME) in whom is placed a template of their character for the purpose of A REAL LIVE INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT as a final proof of their character, AND CHRIST’S JUDGMENT OF THEIR CHARACTERS, before other non-sinning worlds, before the faithful and unfaithful angels, and before Satan. This is done by God in order to disprove Satan’s accusations that Christ’s law was/is impossible to keep and therefore he himself stands guiltless, along with the angels who mutinied with him. Regeneration proves that all who possess the indwelling Holy Spirit Divine Nature of Christ are able to overcome sin and withstand any temptation that Satan is able to tempt them with at the time of his state of the art development of temptations near the very end of the world.

·       To prove the Justice of God, because it would not be fair and just to tempt some men with only some of Satan’s temptations, that existed in ages past, while others are tempted by a far much greater array of temptations at the end of time when Satan has mastered and honed his ability to tempt to “state of the art” degree. Justice demands a level playing field for God’s testing of the character of all men. That can only be achieved by the fact, the truth, of Regeneration.

·       To prove the process by which Philadelphians of the first century A.D., could become pillars (leaders) in the Temple of God when Ellen White said that only the living saints, 144,000 in number, would go into the Temple on Mt. Zion in heaven, and that they would be translated without seeing death. If regeneration is not a fact of truth, Ellen White is thus proven to be a false prophet. Early Writings, p. 19.

·       Some have erroneously concluded that Rev. 3:10-12 means that the Philadelphians are merely resurrected at Christ’s coming, after the time of trouble passes. This is not true for the reason that they are said to be pillars in the Temple, and Ellen White said that only the 144,000 go into that temple, and that they are the last generation living just before Christ comes, who go through the time of trouble and are translated without seeing death.

·       To prove the process by which Philadelphians of circa A.D. 1, Rev. 3:10-12, will be KEPT through the time of trouble that is to come upon the whole world. This cannot be via the resurrection because they go through the time of trouble to be translated without seeing death IF ELLEN WHITE IS CORRECT

·       To vindicate God’s promise of the gift of prophecy to His church, and Ellen White as a true prophet, in that the true church was promised the gift of prophesy until all come into a unity of the faith, and some sayings of Ellen White, would be false without the fact of regeneration, making her a false prophet.

·       To provide opportunity for the faithful of all ages to be part of the bride of Jesus Christ, and not only the final generation of living saints at the end-time.

·       To test the character of all men equally under the most trying time of trouble ever to visit planet earth. This is part of the JUSTICE of God.

·       To prove the developmental character (or not) of one’s life at the time of Satan’s most developed art forms to tempt God’s people, in a real life demonstration of the Investigative Judgment.

·       To vindicate Ellen White’s statement wherein she was SHOWN BY AN ANGEL that some folk who were present at a Conference in 1846, would be food for worms, some subjects of the seven last plagues, and some will be alive and remain upon the earth to be translated at the coming of Jesus. All those folk are dead now, and if the truth of Regeneration is not true, then Ellen White is a false prophet. So in denying the teaching of Regeneration, those who choose to do so are in all reality accusing Ellen G. White of being a marked FALSE PROPHET. That is a serious indictment, and constitutes speaking against the gift of the Holy Spirit to the church.

·       "I was shown the company present at the Conference. Said the angel: “Some food for worms, some subjects of the seven last plagues, some will be alive and remain upon the earth to be translated at the coming of Jesus.”—Testimonies For The Church 1:131, 132 (1856).{LDE 36.3}

·       In Desire of Ages, 179, it mentions how John the Baptist prepared a bride for Jesus Christ, in the person of His disciples. It is taught by Ellen White that the 144,000 are the bride that is translated without seeing death. Rev. 14:1-4. In order for the disciples to be part of that bride, they must be regenerated at the final generation that lives just before the coming of Christ.

·       All are Regenerated, but only those who demonstrate the blameless character of the 144,000 (Rev. 14:1-4), constitute the bride to be translated without seeing death. All other of the saved will either be laid to rest or be martyred as a testimony of their faith at the end-time. The wicked will be judged first, and the bride, the 144,000 and others who are saved will be judged last.

·       The following vision is God’s answer to my question as to how all men could be Regenerated without the wicked not dying a THIRD TIME-- 1) Their first death; 2) After being regenerated, and 3) The final SECOND DEATH at the end of the millennium. God resolved this problem for me by showing me that because they were NOT given a second chance, this THREE DEATH SCENARIO would not be true, but rather the Investigative Judgment merely proves the sum of the ONE CHARACTER they developed in their first life that is replayed by God that all may know the true character of the wicked. It is like a robotical replay of their first life and death, so that it is not reckoned as another life and death in God’s eyes. However, I was shown that even though a second chance was not afforded, neither do the wicked aspire to nor desire a second chance to be righteous. They love and prefer sin. They sell their soul for the mess of pottage called SIN!

·       There is yet another factor involving the Regeneration of all who lived under the First Covenant. That is the prime continued portion of my vision, along with what happens to the slaves.

·       The first death of all who lived before the cross, is not counted, because under the Old Covenant, it was not possible for man to receive the promise of the Holy Spirit indwelling him, because that gift was not available until the first literal Day of Pentecost AFTER the cross. God in His MERCY AND JUSTICE gave those who lived under that Covenant another opportunity that involved a level playing field of JUSTICE, in that they would have the same opportunity as those who lived under the New Covenant, to develop character with the aid of the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

All the wicked die twice any way you look at it. They die ONCE before the judgment, and the WICKED die a second and final death after the millennium. The robot like REPLAY of their wicked character in the Investigative Judgment is not counted as ANOTHER LIFE OR DEATH, because it is a TEMPLATE REPLAY OF THE SAME ONE LIFE AND CHARACTER they developed while under the privilege of having had the choice to partake of the Divine Nature of Christ in that first life.

In the case of the 144,000, they would die once and then the Judgment, the Regeneration, fulfilling the Bible’s injunction that it is appointed ONCE for man to die and then the Judgment.

*******

In past visions, I have discussed the regeneration of the 144,000. In one of those visions, the Lord confirmed to me that the vision of the late J. Wilfred Johnson that the 144,000 are regenerated into living bodies ONE TIME ONLY, for the Investigative Judgment. Privately, Mr. Johnson believed that all men are regenerated so that all might demonstrate character or NOT, to withstand the wiles of Satan’s highest developed arts to tempt at the end-time. The Lord has shown me previously that all men are regenerated for that purpose, but He did not give me the answer to the riddle as to how men of every generation are regenerated for the Investigative Judgment without violating the text that all men are appointed to die once, with the wicked dying a SECOND DEATH at the end of the Millennium, while there “appears” to be a third death experienced by them because they would die after their live Investigative Judgment. My thrilling vision of today answered that riddle. God showed me why no death of the wicked accrues as a “counted” death after their Investigative Judgment.

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

The 144,000 are translated without seeing death, so it does not despite to Heb. 9:27, because they are saved and are translated without seeing death but once before the judgment. But the wicked, it would seem at first consideration, would have to die more than twice because they die a second death at the end of the millennium after Christ returns. For example: Take some person of the first generation of mankind who did not qualify for salvation. He would have died his first death. Then he would be regenerated for the Investigative Judgment, and then he would die a THIRD DEATH at the end of the millennium. This would not be according to the Bible testimony. So I fasted and prayed that the Lord would give me the answer to this riddle as to how all men could be regenerated ONE TIME for the Investigative Judgment, without violating the Biblical truth that men are appointed once to die, but after this the judgment--and after that the second death--in a way that involved TWO DEATHS RATHER THAN THREE, as regards the WICKED, for the saved other than the 144,000 are resurrected at the coming of Christ, to be caught up into the air with Him and taken to heaven. They die a second death, but no more than that.

It is imperative that you fully understand that Hebrews 9:27 means that a person dies but once BEFORE the Judgment. Proof that this is all that Heb. 9:27 means is the fact that the wicked die once before the judgment and once AFTER the judgment at their second and final death after the millennium.

Today, December 23, 2014, the Lord gave me a vision as to His plan of supreme justice involving the regeneration of all WICKED men, which includes but TWO DEATHS, the first and the second FINAL death at the end of the millennium.

God’s Supreme Justice Relative to the Old and New Covenants

When God, on Mt. Sinai, instructed His chosen people to obey His Ten Commandment Decalogue, how did they respond? They said: “All that the Lord hath spoken we will do.”

Exo 19:8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.

The Spirit of Prophecy says that the heart of the Lord fell because He knew that the Children of Israel could not keep His commandments without the aid of Heaven’s highest good, crowning gift, the Holy Spirit Divine Nature of the Son of God indwelling their souls. As the Father did all the works done in and through Christ, so we can only obey God by dying to self and letting Christ work in and through us by His indwelling Holy Spirit.

Ellen White said that both the Father and the Son gave the law from Mt. Sinai:

"In union with the Father, Christ proclaimed the law amid the thunders of Sinai..." E.G. White, The Signs of the Times, 11-12-94, pr. 07.

It was Christ who, amid thunder and flame, had proclaimed the law upon Mount Sinai.” The Mount of Blessing, 175.

So I asked my angel why God and Christ gave the commandments to His people if it was impossible for them to keep them long before the gift of the Holy Spirit Divine Nature of Christ was available to them to enable them to keep the commandments. The reply of my angel to me was to the effect:

1.    Knowing the end from the beginning, The Father and the Son knew that the chosen people would believe that they could do all that was instructed on their own power.

2.    Because it was impossible for them to keep the Covenant they proposed to the Lord, it was GENERALLY JUST AS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO DEVELOP CHARACTER that comes by choosing righteousness to the point of perfection.

3.    God made a New Covenant that they should be fully regenerated into new bodies that would have the opportunity to be on a level playing field with those who lived after the cross when the New Covenant POWER was proffered beginning on the Day of Pentecost.

4.    Heb 11:35   Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:”

Women received their dead raised to life again - As in the case of the woman of Zarephath, whose child was restored to life by Elijah, 1 Kings 17:19-24; and of the son of the Shunamite woman whose child was restored to life by Elisha; 2 Kings 4:18-37.

Heb 11:36   And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

Heb 11:37   They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;

Heb 11:38   (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

Heb 11:39   And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise

Heb 11:40   God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Heb 7:19  For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God. [The BETTER HOPE THAT WAS/IS ABLE TO MAKE PERFECT WAS/IS THE NEW COVENANT WHEREBY THE HOLY SPIRIT MAY INDWELL THE HEART AND DO PERFECT WORKS IN AND THROUGH US WITH OUR COOPERATION.]

5.    I was shown in no uncertain terms that it would not be JUST AND MERCIFUL of God to enter into a covenant with man that was IMPOSSIBLE for man to fulfill, without providing a better hope in a NEW and BETTER COVENANT as far as any prospects of coming to perfection was concerned. Regeneration would put them fully on a level playing field as far as the prospects of overcoming sin was concerned and as far as becoming part of the bride of Christ was/is concerned.

6.    The chosen people of God must go through the grueling experience of the schoolteacher ordinances of sacrificing their best of flock for their sins because:

·       They had to learn the hardest lesson man must learn--that he cannot be saved by his own works--that he cannot work the works of righteousness.

·       Those ordinances presaged the ultimate sacrifice of Christ for their sins, so that He could proffer them the soul of His life, His Holy Spirit, for the express purpose of obeying all His commandments of the Decalogue, to include the two they hung upon.

·       To teach man that they must die to self, be born again by the indwelling Holy Spirit of Christ, so that He could do the works in and through them.

·       Act 3:26  Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

·       "The Power of God in the Third Person.--The prince of the power of evil can only be held in check by the power of God in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit.-- Special Testimonies, Series A, No. 10, p. 37. (1897).

·       "Christ declared that after his ascension, he would send to his church, as his crowning gift, the Comforter, who was to take his place. This Comforter is the Holy Spirit,--the soul of his life, the efficacy of his church, the light and life of the world. With his Spirit Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin.

In the gift of the Spirit [HIS LIFE--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE], Jesus gave to man the highest good that heaven could bestow....

The Spirit was given as a regenerating agency, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail....

It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given his Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress his own character upon the church." E.G. White, Review and Herald Articles, May 19, 1904, vol. 5, p. 42.

·       “Christ had stooped to take upon Himself man’s nature; He was to bear an infinite weight of woe as He should make His soul an offering for sin; yet angels desire that even in His humiliation the Son of the Highest might appear before men with a dignity and glory befitting His character.” E.G. White, The Great Controversy, pp. 313, 314.

·       The Glory that the Father gave to Christ is given to us: “Jesus is waiting to breathe upon all his disciples, and give them the inspiration of his sanctifying spirit, and transfuse the vital influence from himself to his people . . . Christ is to live in his human agents, and work through their faculties, and act through their capabilities. Their will must be submitted to His will, they must act with His Spirit, that it may be no more they that live, but Christ that liveth in them. Jesus is seeking to impress upon them the thought that in giving His Holy Spirit He is giving to them the glory which the Father has given Him, that He and His people may be one in God.” Signs of the Times, October 3, 1892, par. 4.

·       “Christ gives them the breath of His own Spirit, the life of His own Life.” Desire of Ages, p. 827, par. 3.

·       “The Holy Spirit is the breath of life in the soul. The impartation of the Spirit is the impartation of the life of Christ. It imbues the receiver with the attributes of Christ.” Desire of Ages, p. 805.

·       “They have one God and one Saviour; and one Spirit—the Spirit of Christ—is to bring unity into their ranks.” Testimonies, Vol. 9, p. 189.

·       “They must have His grace, the Spirit of Christ, to help their infirmities, or they cannot form a Christian character. Jesus loves to have us come to Him, just as we are—sinful, helpless, dependent.” Faith and Works, p. 38.

·       Without the New Covenant of Promise, the New Covenant, whereby man receives the gift of eternal life, the Holy Spirit soul of the life of Christ, indwelling the heart--it was IMPOSSIBLE for those under the first Covenant TO RECEIVE THE PROMISE OF ETERNAL LIFE, even though they exhibited faith, to wit:

Heb 11:39   And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise

Heb 11:40   God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Heb 7:19  For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God. [The BETTER HOPE THAT WAS/IS ABLE TO MAKE PERFECT AND GIVE MAN ETERNAL LIFE, WAS/IS THE NEW COVENANT WHEREBY THE HOLY SPIRIT MAY INDWELL THE HEART AND DO PERFECT WORKS IN AND THROUGH US WITH OUR COOPERATION.]

·       The promise was IMPOSSIBLE to RECEIVE under the Old Covenant. It was IMPOSSIBLE to receive eternal life under that covenant, because the law made nothing perfect. The keeping of the law was impossible without the aid of the Holy Spirit indwelling the soul, and this indwelling of the Holy Spirit is the gift of eternal life. That gift was not available until AFTER the cross.

·       I was shown that the only way that those who lived before the cross could experience THE NEW COVENANT, the indwelling of “the highest good, crowning gift heaven can bestow, the Holy Spirit soul of the ETERNAL life of Christ” indwelling the soul, to constitute ETERNAL LIFE, was for all such persons to be regenerated ONE TIME into another body during the time of the Investigative Judgment, so as to be on a level field of opportunity to receive the promise of the gift of eternal life, for even though under the Old Covenant, all obtained a good report through faith, they received NOT the promise of Eternal Life, the gift of the Holy Spirit soul of the life of Christ indwelling the soul, because that was not available to ANYONE before the cross, and until the Day of Pentecost

·       Heb 11:39   And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise [The promise of Eternal life, because that gift was promised under a new and better Covenant, that was not ratified until AFTER the cross, and ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST, when the disciples received that gift.

The Highest Good, Crowning Gift That Heaven Can Bestow

The angel Gabriel showed me this astounding evidence of God’s love, compassion, longsuffering, mercy and JUSTICE. He showed me that the first Covenant was specified by man--man telling God what he (man) would do--keep all that God said. That covenant was IMPOSSIBLE in that eternal life could not come by way of the law--even if the law could have been kept perfectly, which was IMPOSSIBLE without the indwelling of the gift of the Holy Spirit.

So God in all mercy, specified His New Covenant, whereby His law would be planted in the heart of man by His Holy Spirit indwelling there to do the works. But that New Covenant did not come into play until AFTER the cross, when Christ ascended to the Heavenly Sanctuary to sprinkle His blood, which made it possible that His Holy Spirit be sent to all men that have ever lived, and not omitting all who lived before the cross. This is one of the most wonderful acts of God’s JUSTICE that He could perform.

I was shown that it is one of the most wonderful acts of God’s Character of love, mercy, compassion and longsuffering toward man, that He regenerates all men who lived before the Cross, during the Investigative Judgment, in order that they might receive the highest good, crowning gift that heaven can bestow, as has been the privilege of all men since the Day of Pentecost AFTER the cross.

This gift is received in order that man might be enabled to keep the commandments of God and perfect his character by the indwelling Holy Spirit of Christ and God, who both come to us, John 14, and that they might thereby receive the PROMISE OF ETERNAL LIFE, which is indeed the indwelling of the eternal Holy Spirit of Christ. This gift, this promise, must be received before the second coming of Christ; before man is safe to save. This gift is not doled out at glorification and/or the coming of Christ.

This gift has been available since the first typical Day of Pentecost. That is how the disciples of Christ became the bride of Christ, Desire of Ages, 179, in their day. All must have this wedding garment on when Christ comes--the white robe of His righteousness, the soul of His life, His Holy Spirit, indwelling the soul.

It was IMPOSSIBLE for all men who lived before the cross to receive this gift because it was not available until the Day of Pentecost AFTER THE CROSS. This is what is meant wherein the Bible says that those men received not the PROMISE by their faith. Faith alone, belief alone, without the indwelling works of Christ, and the gift of the Holy Spirit’s eternal life indwelling man’s soul, cannot constitute the gift of eternal life--thus those before the cross were denied the promise.

I was shown that even though Abraham was counted righteous because of His faith, He could not receive the promise of Eternal life until he should be regenerated at the Investigative Judgment to “receive the promised provision of the New Covenant, which was not ratified in his day. This is fully taught by the Bible in Heb. 11:39.

Heb 11:39   And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise [The promise of Eternal life, because that gift was promised under a new and better Covenant, that was not ratified until AFTER the cross, and ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST, when the disciples received that gift.

So the playing field was NOT OF EQUAL OPPORTUNITY under the Old Covenant and to those who lived only under that Covenant. They could not receive the promise just because they did not live in the time when the promise was ratified--fulfilled. Would that be the JUSTICE of a JUST GOD?

How All Men Are Regenerated by Meeting the Bible Truth That Men Die Once and Then the Judgment

I was shown that because it was impossible for man to receive the promise under the Old Covenant of “All you say we will do Lord,”  God did not count the death of those people as their first death, but gave them promise of a better resurrection, a better promise, a better regeneration to life again.

Heb 11:35   Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:”

Question: Did those dead who were raised to life again, die only once, and then the judgment?

Asnwer: Yes, because I was shown that God counted their past life as unqualified to receive the promise of eternal life. Why were they unqualified to receive the promise, even by their faith in some instances? Because they did not live under the promises of the better New Covenant, whereby they could receive the gift of the Holy Spirit’s eternal life indwelling their human bodies for the purpose of regenerating them back into the image of God, so that they could die to self and let Christ reign supreme in and through them. That is the ONE AND ONLY WAY TO ETERNAL LIFE. That is why their first life was annulled by God, as He could not participate in a covenant with them that made the promise of eternal life to them null and void--IMPOSSIBLE, and still be a God of TOTAL JUSTICE. He permitted their former life to teach them and all following after, the folly of their self-limiting Covenant in agreeing to do that which they could not do, and in agreeing to keep commandments that could not give them eternal life. Again, for emphasis:

Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. [Eternal life is not of the law.] Eternal life is love for and faith in Christ’s indwelling Holy Spirit--gold tried in the fire. Eternal life is obtained by dying daily to self and receiving the highest good, crowning gift of the Holy Spirit soul of the eternal life of Christ indwelling the soul of man. Then He does the works we cannot do without His empowerment. No man can boast because it is the grace (power--Rom. 1:5) of His indwelling Holy Spirit that does the works LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST.

They must have His grace, the Spirit of Christ, to help their infirmities, or they cannot form a Christian character. Jesus loves to have us come to Him, just as we are—sinful, helpless, dependent.” Faith and Works, p. 38.

There must be a power working from within, a new life from above, before man can be changed from sin to holiness. That power is Christ. His grace [the Spirit of Christ] alone can quicken the lifeless faculties of the soul, and attract it to God, to holiness.” (ST, May 28, 1902, par. 3).

Question: How could the pre-cross folk under the Old Covenant of their own making, have a power working from within, a new life from above, and be changed from sin to holiness, when that gift was not available to them until after the cross--after Christ ascended to His Father to plead His blood that this gift should be sent to all who die to self and cooperate to have His indwelling Spirit abide within them?

My angel showed me that the only way those living under the Old Covenant could receive a power working from within, a new life from above, the Spirit of Christ, was when that highest good, crowning gift was made available, and it was NOT AVAILABLE in their lifetime under the Old Covenant. Thus, in effect, that life and death was annulled and they had another opportunity in a regenerated body that should live during the Investigative Judgment, during which time they might receive the PROMISE that was unavailable to them in their day.

I was shown that it was IMPOSSIBLE to receive the promise--ETERNAL LIFE, under the Old Covenant, even by faith as exhibited by the patriarchs of old. Therefore, in the greatest act of mercy and JUSTICE on God’s part, next to the Incarnation sacrifice, I was shown that the first life of His first, Old Covenant people was to be as if they had not existed insofar as salvation is concerned, insofar as ANY ABILITY TO RECEIVE THE PROMISE OF THE INDWELLING HOLY SPIRIT ETERNAL LIFE IN THEIR PRE-CROSS LIFETIME WAS CONCERNED. That is a very important qualification. Their life under the Old Covenant was an extremely important example to all who followed after, that eternal life is not of the law. Eternal life is of the indwelling ETERNAL Holy Spirit of Christ, for He doeth the works in and through us, LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST, just as He said that the Father did the works in and through Him.

Because the covenant they entered into, being of their own specification--LAW KEEPING THAT DID NOT PROVIDE SALVATION, God could only pardon their sin under that covenant, because the POWER that is necessary to aid them in keeping all His commandments was lacking, and the gift of the eternal Holy Spirit under the New Covenant was not extant in their lifetime. Therefore, that covenant could not make the comers thereunto perfect, nor could it impart to them the New Covenant gift of the indwelling eternal life of the Holy Spirit.

Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

Even faith, without dying to self daily, and receiving the Holy Spirit into the heart, is nothing more than presumptionThe Doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which God especially hates.

Though the patriarchs were faithful, yet they could not receive the promise of eternal life under the Old Covenant, and the record says that most of them did not keep the covenant (the Law, the Decalogue) by refusing to walk in His law. Actually, we know it was IMPOSSIBLE for them to keep the law without the aid of the Holy Spirit, and that man is not saved by works of the law, unless and until we permit Christ to do those works in and through us, LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST.

Psa 78:10 They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;

Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

By way of reminder:

Heb 11:39   And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise [The promise of Eternal life, because that gift was promised under a new and better Covenant, that was not ratified until AFTER the cross, and ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST, when the disciples received that gift. Even though Abraham was justified by faith, he, like everyone else, had to be regenerated under the New Covenant in order to receive the indwelling eternal life of the soul of the life of Christ, His Holy Spirit. Yes, Abraham obtained a good report through faith, BELIEF, but belief ONLY is not enough. One must receive the promised highest good, crowning gift that heaven can bestow, the eternal life of the Holy Spirit indwelling the soul. THIS IS WHAT CONSTITUTES ETERNAL LIFE AND IT IS OBTAINED IN NO OTHER WAY. The entire schoolteacher of the experience of God’s first chosen people TEACHES THIS TRUTH, which still escapes many even today!]

I was shown that the general population existing prior to the cross, had no opportunity to receive the gift of eternal life and to become the bride of Christ because of their faulty choice in saying they would do all that God had said.

I was shown that it would not have been equal opportunity MERCY AND JUSTICE as far as A TOTALLY MERCIFUL AND JUST GOD is concerned, if He had permitted His chosen people to enter into an IMPOSSIBLE covenant, THAT MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO RECEIVE THE PROMISE OF ETERNAL LIFE, without providing a better way, a better life under a New Covenant, with better promises, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HE DID/DOES by providing them a new life by way of a regenerated life lived during the Investigative Judgment, under which they may be placed on equal footing with those AFTER THE CROSS, who had all the benefits of the BETTER PROMISE available to them. No one is saved without having access to the indwelling eternal life of the Holy Spirit of Christ, which is exactly what eternal life consists of. Thus, by regenerating into another body, those who failed to receive the promise by their faith alone, God has manifested to the world one of His greatest demonstrations of His character of LOVE, MERCY, LONGSUFFERING and JUSTICE, to wit:

Job 8:3 Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?

Job 37:23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

Psa 89:14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.

Jer 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

Pro 8:15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

Pro 21:3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

Jer 31:23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.

Jer 50:7 All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.

The Lord sees all these things, and He will surely call men to account; for He is a God of justice and equity.” {CH 302.3}

Because God is a God of justice and terrible majesty, Satan caused them to look upon Him as severe and unforgiving. Thus he drew men to join him in rebellion against God, and the night of woe settled down upon the world.” {DA 21.3}

Rev 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

Is There a Precedent For God Regarding a People as Though They Had Not Been?

Indeed, there is a precedent for God regarding a people as though they had not existed, to wit:

I saw that the slave-master would have to answer for the soul of his slave whom he has kept in ignorance; and all the sins of the slave will be visited upon the master. God cannot take the slave to heaven, who has been kept in ignorance and degradation, knowing nothing of God, or the Bible, fearing nothing but his master’s lash, and not holding so elevated a position as his master’s brute beasts. But he does the best thing for him that a compassionate God can do. He lets him be as though he had not been; while the master has to suffer the seven last plagues, and then come up in the second resurrection, and suffer the second, most awful death. Then the wrath of God will be appeased. {1SG 193.1}

The act of regarding the slaves as though they had not been, achieves the same objective as regarding all mankind before the cross as though they had not been--their death does not count against them as having died once and then the judgment.

Indeed God could not take the slave who was kept in ignorance to heaven, but He will regenerate them and give them a chance to know of Christ. I was shown that such is the only course a fully JUST GOD could and would take.

What I was Shown Regarding The Rest of The Story

I asked my angel if it was fair and just to regard the ignorant slaves who had no chance to know of Christ, as though they had never been (existed). My angel told me that though their past life will indeed be reckoned as though they did not exist, they will be regenerated and given a chance to respond to the gospel call. I was also shown that it would violate God’s principle against partiality to regard the modern-day slaves with more preference than those who were given no opportunity to know Him in more distant times of the world’s history. If it was IMPOSSIBLE for all men before the Cross to become perfect because of a defect in the Old Covenant, as it was IMPOSSIBLE for the slaves to know Christ, I was assured that both will receive another chance to respond to the gospel as accompanied with ALL THE POWER AVAILABLE AFTER THE CROSS FOR BECOMING PERFECT. I was shown that any other course would cause man to doubt God’s JUSTICE and MERCY.

1Ti 5:21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

Jas 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Slaves Regarded by God as Though They had Never Existed Become Pious and Rise in Victory and Triumph

Then commenced the jubilee, when the land should rest. I saw the pious slave rise in victory and triumph, and shake off the chains that bound him, while his wicked master was in confusion and knew not what to do; for the wicked could not understand the words of the voice of God. {EW 286.1}

The light that was shed upon the waiting ones penetrated everywhere, and those in the churches who had any light, who had not heard and rejected the three messages, obeyed the call and left the fallen churches. Many had come to years of accountability since these messages had been given, and the light shone upon them, and they were privileged to choose life or death. Some chose life and took their stand with those who were looking for their Lord and keeping all His commandments. The third message was to do its work; all were to be tested upon it, and the precious ones were to be called out from the religious bodies. A compelling power moved the honest, while the manifestation of the power of God brought a fear and restraint upon their unbelieving relatives and friends so that they dared not, neither had they the power to hinder those who felt the work of the Spirit of God upon them. The last call was carried even to the poor slaves, and the pious among them poured forth their songs of rapturous joy at the prospect of their happy deliverance. Their masters could not check them; fear and astonishment kept them silent. Mighty miracles were wrought, the sick were healed, and signs and wonders followed the believers. God was in the work, and every saint, fearless of consequences, followed the convictions of his own conscience and united with those who were keeping all the commandments of God; and with power they sounded abroad the third message. I saw that this message will close with power and strength far exceeding the midnight cry. {EW 278.1}

I was shown that although there are modern-day slaves at the end-time, the above statement is inclusive of the regenerated slaves from the time slavery flourished in America and other lands before the Emancipation Proclamation.

All mankind born the first time AFTER THE CROSS are regenerated but ONCE beginning with the Investigative Judgment in 1844. But I was shown that mankind existing BEFORE THE CROSS, have been regenerated for another equal opportunity chance AFTER the Investigative Judgment began in 1844. While all born after the Cross merely play out the character they developed in a past life, in a REAL TIME INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT, those who lived prior to the cross and under the Old Covenant, get a second chance at a level playing field opportunity to become the bride of Jesus Christ, as do the slaves who were kept in ignorance of the gospel by a lack of freedom. That is the HIGHEST FORM OF JUSTICE FOR A TOTALLY FAIR, JUST, LOVING, COMPASSIONATE, MERCIFUL, LONGSUFFERING GOD. And remember that the last message of mercy to a dying world depicts God’s character of love:

Those who wait for the Bridegroom’s coming are to say to the people, “Behold your God.” The last rays of merciful light, the last message of mercy to be given to the world, is a revelation of His character of love. The children of God are to manifest His glory. In their own life and character they are to reveal what the grace of God has done for them.” {COL 415.5}

What could better demonstrate God’s character of love, mercy and Justice, than His act of regenerating a foolish people who thought they could aspire to eternal life by law keeping, so that they could finally receive the gift of eternal life in the Investigative Judgment and have equal opportunity to form the bride of Jesus Christ? All this for a people WHO DID NOT RECEIVE THE PROMISE OF ETERNAL LIFE UNDER THE OLD COVENANT, in spite of their faith!

Another Chance AFTER THE CROSS? Oh Yes! If you Believe God and Ellen White!

When Christ cried, “It is finished,” God’s unseen hand rent the strong fabric composing the veil of the Temple from top to bottom. The way into the Holiest of all was made manifest. God bowed His head satisfied. Now His justice and mercy could blend. He could be just, and yet the justifier of all who should believe on Christ. He looked upon the victim expiring on the cross, and said, “It is finished. The human race shall have another trial.” The redemption price was paid, and Satan fell like lightning from heaven.” {12MR 409.2}

The entire human race had another trial beginning from the time Christ cried on the cross: “It is finished.” My angel showed me this included the folk living before the cross! They must have another chance under the New Covenant, to become the bride of Jesus Christ, when all the POWER for achieving that aspiration was FIRST AVAILABLE.

Bible Proof of This Vision

I asked my angel for the greatest empirical evidence of the verity of my vision, and he instructed me that the most obvious Bible evidence is THE LOVE AND JUSTICE OF GOD--that it would not be just of God to arbitrarily judge the people who lived under the first Covenant, when the Covenant they placed themselves under made it IMPOSSIBLE to make the comers thereunto perfect.

Proof of the truth of my vision is the fact that Abraham, the father of the faithful, is saved, WHEN HE, NOR ANYONE ELSE COULD NOT RECEIVE THE PROMISE UNDER THE OLD COVENANT. He could accept the promise by faith, but He could not receive it into His life until it was available, and that did not occur until the Day of Pentecost when the disciples first received that gift of eternal life. All men living before the indwelling gift of the Holy Spirit was available, could not have the benefit of that provision for building character. They could not CHOOSE to have that gift because it was not available during their first lifetime on this earth.

Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

Whereas, all mankind who lived after the Cross, and under the New Covenant, had a full opportunity to become a PERFECT, BLAMELESS OVERCOMER by the indwelling highest good, crowning gift that heaven could bestow, the Holy Spirit soul of the life of Christ indwelling the soul of man. There would be no full justice of A FULLY JUST GOD, in denying that same privilege to all men from Adam to the Day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit first invested men with ALL ITS INDWELLING POWER. I was shown that it is the JUSTICE OF GOD that most completely displays His love, mercy, compassion, and longsuffering toward man.

Many Gems Yet to Be Discovered—“New light will ever be revealed on the word of God to him who is in living connection with the Sun of Righteousness. Let no one come to the conclusion that there is no more truth to be revealed. The diligent, prayerful seeker for truth will find precious rays of light yet to shine forth from the word of God. Many gems are yet scattered that are to be gathered together to become the property of the remnant people of God.—Counsels on Sabbath School Work, 34 (1892). {CW 35.1}

In the opening of the great controversy, Satan had declared that the law of God could not be obeyed, that justice was inconsistent with mercy, and that, should the law be broken, it would be impossible for the sinner to be pardoned. If God should remit the punishment of sin, urged Satan, He would not be a God of justice. When men broke the law of God, Satan declared it was proved that the law could not be obeyed; man could not be forgiven. Because he, after his rebellion, had been banished from heaven, Satan claimed that the human race must be forever shut out from God’s favor. God could not be just, he urged, and yet show mercy to the sinner. {HLv 508.4}

But man was in a different position from that of Satan. Lucifer had sinned in the light of God’s glory. Understanding the character of God, Satan chose to follow his own selfish will. There was no more that God could do to save him. But man was deceived, his mind darkened by Satan’s sophistry. The height and depth of the love of God he did not know. By beholding His character he might be drawn back to God.” {HLv 509.1}

I then asked my angel: What about the faithful patriarchs such as Enoch, Elijah, Moses, Abraham etc.? I was shown that these individuals were types of Christ and the Father, in portraying to the people what could be their experience under the New Covenant. All these persons had a very close experience with God that engendered FAITH in advance of their time--to wit: Moses and the miracle of the burning bush and the voice of God; Enoch walking with God and being translated, Elijah’s walk with God and being translated, Abraham’s experiencing of the miracle of God when his wife was able to give birth to Isaac at the age of 90 years.

Elijah was a type of the saints who will be living on the earth at the time of the second advent of Christ and who will be “changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump,” without tasting of death. 1 Corinthians 15:51, 52

It was as a representative of those who shall be thus translated that Elijah, near the close of Christ’s earthly ministry, was permitted to stand with Moses by the side of the Saviour on the mount of transfiguration. In these glorified ones, the disciples saw in miniature a representation of the kingdom of the redeemed. They beheld Jesus clothed with the light of heaven; they heard the “voice out of the cloud” (Luke 9:35), acknowledging Him as the Son of God; they saw Moses, representing those who will be raised from the dead at the time of the second advent; and there also stood Elijah, representing those who at the close of earth’s history will be changed from mortal to immortal and be translated to heaven without seeing death.”{PK 227.2}

Enoch was a representative of Christ as surely as was the beloved disciple John. Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him. To him was committed the message of the second coming of Christ. “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment upon all.” Jude 14, 15. The message preached by Enoch and his translation to heaven were a convincing argument to all who lived in his time. These things were an argument that Methuselah and Noah could use with power to show that the righteous could be translated.{CCh 90.2}

By faith Enoch “was translated that he should not see death, ... for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” Hebrews 11:5. The godly character of this prophet represents the state of holiness which must be attained by those who shall be “redeemed from the earth” (Revelation 14:3) at Christ’s second advent. Then, as before the Flood, iniquity will prevail. Men will rebel against the authority of Heaven. But like Enoch, God’s people will seek for purity of heart and conformity to His will, until they shall reflect the likeness of Christ. Like Enoch they will warn the world of the Lord’s second coming and by their holy example will condemn the sins of the ungodly. As Enoch was translated to heaven, so the living righteous will be translated from the earth before its destruction by fire. See 1 Corinthians 15:51, 52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.” {EP 49.4}

·       Enoch was a representative of Christ. {CCh 90.2}

·       Elijah was a type of the 144,000 living saints translated without seeing death.

·       Moses represents those who will be raised from the dead at the time of the second advent..

·       Abraham was called the Father of the Faithful.

In Scripture there are many exceptions to the general rule, but as a people, those who lived under the Old Covenant did not receive the promise of God, because they lived not when that promise became available to man via the highest good, crowning gift that heaven can bestow, the divine nature holy spirit soul of the life of Christ, indwelling the souls of men. This I will prove in this documentation of my vision.

"When a brother receives new light upon the Scriptures, he should frankly explain his position, and every minister should search the Scriptures with the spirit of candor to see if the points presented can be substantiated by the inspired word. “The servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth.” 2 Timothy 2:24, 25." {CET 203.3}

"There are many things that we ought to be able to understand, that we do not comprehend because we are so far behind our privileges. Christ said to his disciples, "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now." This is our condition. Would they not have been able to understand what he had to say to them, if they had been doers of his word--if they had improved point after point of the truth which he had presented to them? But although they could not then understand, he told them that he would send the Comforter, who would lead them into all truth. We should be in a position where we can comprehend the teaching, leading, and working of the Spirit of Christ. We must not measure God or his truth by our finite understanding, or by our preconceived opinions….Is Christ abiding in your hearts by faith? Is his Spirit in you? If it is, there will be such a yearning in your soul for the salvation of those for whom Christ has died, that self will sink into insignificance, and Christ alone will be exalted. Brethren and sisters, there is great need at this time of humbling ourselves before God, that the Holy Spirit may come upon us" (RH: October 8, 1889; par. 2)

God designs that the message of redemption shall come to His people as the latter rain; for they are fast losing their connection with God. They are trusting in men, and glorifying men, and their strength is proportionate to the strength of their dependence. We are to know more than we know at the present time. We are to comprehend the deep things of God. There are themes to be dwelt upon which are worthy of more than a passing notice. Angels have desired to look into the truths which are revealed to those who are searching God’s Word with contrite hearts. Those who will devote their powers to the study of God’s Word, and especially to the prophecies referring to these last days, will be rewarded by the discovery of important truths. The last book of the New Testament Scriptures is full of truths that need to be understood. Satan has blinded the eyes of men, and they have been glad of any excuse for not studying this book. But here Christ has declared through His servant John what shall be in the last days.” {ST April 18, 1900, par. 9}

Here is something from J. Wilfred Johnson's "The Everlasting Covenant" we should always keep in mind;

This is from Education page 171; “It is impossible for any human mind to exhaust even one truth or promise of the Bible.” Now, think about that, I can't exhaust a single truth or promise in the Bible. Neither can you.

Now, if that is true, then presumably I could catch a certain portion of it, but that doesn't mean that you would catch the same portion, you might catch a different portion. So that you would understand a certain facet of that particular truth or promise, and I would understand a different one. But this is not just cause for us to get into an argument; this only means that God has permitted one to see one facet and somebody else to see another facet. Rather than to have a controversy over the understanding of the passage, far better would it be to put the two pieces together, or as many as there are, and try to get the total concept. Just like the two eyes in your head, each eye sees a different image, a slightly different angle, which gives us our sense of depth perspective, in addition to the comparative sizes of the object. Without binocular vision we don't get the sensation of depth for the space nearly so clearly, and the same is true with the Word of God, you will find many passages in the scriptures and in The Spirit of Prophecy, where one passage apparently contradicts another passage. I'll be coming across some of those with you; I'll be reading some of those. And a person who has read only the one passage formulates his conclusion on that basis and the person who has read the other passage formulates his conclusion on the basis of that passage and the two conclusions are at variance, one with the other, and they disagree. And too often the habit of the individual is to argue about the points and to contend over them rather than to put the two pieces together as in binocular vision and let the psychology of the mind fuse the two images into a concept that has greater depth of understanding. God's word is like that.

So she goes on to say; “One catches the glory from one point of view, another from another point; yet we can discern only gleamings.”

Those who have an opportunity to hear the truth and yet take no pains to hear or understand it, thinking that if they do not hear they will not be accountable, will be judged guilty before God the same as if they had heard and rejected. There will be no excuse for those who choose to go in error when they might understand what is truth. In His sufferings and death Jesus has made atonement for all sins of ignorance, but there is no provision made for willful blindness.” –-{LDE 218.1}

1893 -- “We shall not be held accountable for the light that has not reached our perception, but for that which we have resisted and refused. A man could not apprehend the truth which had never been presented to him, and therefore could not be condemned for light he had never had.”—{BC 1145 (1893). {LDE 218.2}

"No man can of himself understand his errors. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" Jer. 17:9. The lips may express a poverty of soul that the heart does not acknowledge. While speaking to God of poverty of spirit, the heart may be swelling with the conceit of its own superior humility and exalted righteousness. In one way only can a true knowledge of self be obtained. We must behold Christ. It is ignorance of Him that makes men so uplifted in their own righteousness. When we contemplate His purity and excellence, we shall see our own weakness and poverty and defects as they really are. We shall see ourselves lost and hopeless, clad in garments of self-righteousness, like every other sinner. We shall see that if we are ever saved, it will not be through our own goodness, but through God's infinite grace.  {COL 159.1}

When asked to hear the reasons of a doctrine that you do not understand, do not condemn the message until you have given it a thorough investigation, and know from the word of God that it is not tenable. If I had an opportunity, I would speak to the students of every Sabbath school in the land, lifting up my voice in earnest appeal that they go to the word of God, seeking for truth and light. God has precious light to come to His people at this very time, and you should strive earnestly in your investigations to aim at nothing less than a thorough knowledge of every point of truth, that you may not be found in the day of God among those who have not lived by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”  {CSW 31.2}

     “The momentous issues at stake through neglect of the word of God should be carefully considered. The study of the Bible is worthy of the best mental effort, the most sanctified ability. When new light is presented to the church, it is perilous to shut yourselves away from it. Refusing to hear because you are prejudiced against the message or the messenger will not make your case excusable before God. To condemn that which you have not heard and do not understand will not exalt your wisdom in the eyes of those who are candid in their investigations of truth. And to speak with contempt of those whom God has sent with a message of truth, is folly and madness. "This is why we must be careful even when we disagree.  Respect always is needed."{CSW 30.2 31.2}

While God has given ample evidence for faith, He will never remove all excuse for unbelief. All who look for hooks to hang their doubts upon will find them. And those who refuse to accept and obey God's word until every objection has been removed, and there is no longer an opportunity for doubt, will never come to the light. {GC 527.2}

     Distrust of God is the natural outgrowth of the unrenewed heart, which is at enmity with Him. But faith is inspired by the Holy Spirit, and it will flourish only as it is cherished. No man can become strong in faith without a determined effort. Unbelief strengthens as it is encouraged; and if men, instead of dwelling upon the evidences which God has given to sustain their faith, permit themselves to question and cavil, they will find their doubts constantly becoming more confirmed. {GC 527.3}

     But those who doubt God's promises and distrust the assurance of His grace are dishonoring Him; and their influence, instead of drawing others to Christ, tends to repel them from Him. They are unproductive trees, that spread their dark branches far and wide, shutting away the sunlight from other plants, and causing them to droop and die under the chilling shadow. The lifework of these persons will appear as a never-ceasing witness against them. They are sowing seeds of doubt and skepticism that will yield an unfailing harvest. {GC 527.4}

     There is but one course for those to pursue who honestly desire to be freed from doubts. Instead of questioning and caviling concerning that which they do not understand, let them give heed to the light which already shines upon them, and they will receive greater light. Let them do every duty which has been made plain to their understanding, and they will be enabled to understand and perform those of which they are now in doubt. {GC 528.1}

     Satan can present a counterfeit so closely resembling the truth that it deceives those who are willing to be deceived, who desire to shun the self-denial and sacrifice demanded by the truth; but it is impossible for him to hold under his power one soul who honestly desires, at whatever cost, to know the truth. Christ is the truth and the "Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world." John 1:9. The Spirit of truth has been sent to guide men into all truth. And upon the authority of the Son of God it is declared: "Seek, and ye shall find." "If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine." Matthew 7:7; John 7:17. {GC 528.2}

When a doctrine is presented that does not meet our minds, we should go to the word of God, flee to the Lord in prayer, and give no place to the enemy to come in with suspicion and prejudice. We should never permit that spirit to be manifested that arraigned the priests and rulers against the Redeemer of the world. They complained that he disturbed the people, and they wished he would let them alone; for he caused perplexity and dissension. The Lord sends light among us to prove of what manner of spirit we are. We are not to deceive ourselves. In 1844 when anything came to our attention that we did not understand, we kneeled down, and asked God to help us to take the right position, and then we could come to a right understanding and see eye to eye. There was no dissension, no enmity, no evil-surmising, no misjudging of our brethren. If we only understood the evil of this spirit of intolerance, how we would shun it! We join ourselves to the enemy of God and man when we accuse our brethren, for Satan was an accuser of the brethren. We bear false witness when we add a little to our brother's words, and give them a false coloring; and in the sight of God we are not doers, but transgressors of the law. We are not on the Lord's side; we are on the side of him who hurts, destroys, and tears down the cause of truth. We should pray for one another, instead of drawing apart. {RH, August 27, 1889 par. 6}

     He who keeps the word of truth abides in Christ; in him is the love of God perfected. We should be ready to accept light from God from whatever source it may come, instead of rejecting it because it does not come through the channel from which we expected it. When Jesus opened the word of God at Nazareth, and read Isaiah's prophecy of his work and mission, and declared that it was fulfilled in their hearing, they began to doubt and question. They said, "Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? and his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? And they were offended in him." They did not expect light from him, and they rejected the message of God. When he who had been born blind, received his sight, and came to the Pharisees and told them of Jesus, they said, "Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out." They settled themselves in unbelief, in rejection of Christ, though they professed to believe in God. {RH, August 27, 1889 par. 7}

     God has commanded us to love one another. If you see defects in a brother, do not say, "I have lost all confidence in him." Have you any right to speak in that way of another? The Scripture commands us to build one another up in the most holy faith. We are to be holy in all manner of conversation. Are your minds broad enough to take in all the circumstances, perplexities, and trials of the brother you condemn? {RH, August 27, 1889 par. 8}

     There are many whose religion consists in criticising habits of dress and manners. They want to bring every one to their own measure. They desire to lengthen out those who seem too short for their standard, and to cut down others who seem too long. They have lost the love of God out of their hearts; but they think they have a spirit of discernment. They think it is their prerogative to criticise, and pronounce judgment; but they should repent of their error, and turn away from their sins. Peter asked of the Lord concerning John, "Lord, and what shall this man do?" Jesus answered, "What is that to thee? follow thou me." We are to follow the Example. A flood of light shines upon us, and all jealousy should be put away; for jealousy is cruel as the grave. Purge out the old leaven; for a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. Let us love one another. Let us have harmony and union throughout our ranks. Let us have our hearts sanctified to God. Let us look upon the light that abides for us in Jesus. Let us remember how forbearing and patient he was with the erring children of men. We should be in a wretched state if the God of heaven were like one of us, and treated us as we are inclined to treat one another. Thank the Lord that his thoughts are not our thoughts, nor his ways our ways. He is full of compassion and love, long-suffering, and abundant in tender mercy. If we have the love of Jesus, we shall love those for whom he has died.” {RH, August 27, 1889 par. 9}

Rev 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

Mr. Johnson said that all he saw in vision is that the 144,000 were regenerated. That would mean that they would only die ONCE, and then be translated. Privately, he said that he believed all were regenerated for the Investigated Judgment, but that there is the problem of dying more than once in that case. There were a few cases wherein subjects died more than once. The Lord showed me in vision that there is no problem with all men of all ages being regenerated, because the true meaning of dying once and then the judgment, merely means that ONE DIES ONCE BEFORE THE JUDGMENT, BUT CAN DIE AGAIN AFTER THE JUDGMENT, just as the case is with the wicked coming back to life after the millennium and then perishing eternally.

The purpose for all men being regenerated is that the universe will see men play out their character ONCE MORE, IN REAL LIFE, as Jesus judges them in the Investigative Judgment. So in effect, THEY JUDGE THEMSELVES by proving they would choose sin all over again if given a second life--ESPECIALLY the ones who were born AFTER the cross--AFTER THE HOLY SPIRIT BECAME AVAILABLE AS A SOURCE OF POWER FOR OVERCOMING. I was shown that IT IS OF EXTREME UNCTION to Christ that He be fair and just, and that it would not be so if all born AFTER the Cross, AFTER HEAVEN'S HIGHEST GOOD, CROWNING GIFT WAS MADE AVAILABLE to all according to their choice--to accept or reject. In that sense there is an element of a second chance, but even with that opportunity to choose righteousness, those who refused righteousness would continue to do so because they proved that they loved sin more than righteousness in their first life--but Christ must give them the opportunity AFTER His Holy Spirit was given as a gift to indwell the soul of man AFTER THE CROSS, for the gift of the Divine Nature of Christ as an indwelling presence was not available until then. God is all about love, fairness and justice, and only this scenario played out would provide PERFECT LOVE, FAIRNESS, AND JUSTICE.

I repeat for serious emphasis:

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

I have proven to you that the above verse means MORE than the notion that IT IS APPOINTED THAT MAN DIE ONLY ONCE. I have proven that wicked men die BEFORE the millennium and AFTER the millennium. That is DYING TWICE. I can prove that a few persons died more than ONCE before the Judgment, like Lazarus, the young maiden, and any who were raised from the dead by Jesus and His disciples. So the meaning of Hebrews 9:27, does not tell us how many times a man DIES. It tells us only that man dies ONCE before the Judgment, BEFORE 1844, and THAT IS ALL IT MEANS, because a huge multitude of men died before 1844, and they will die again after the millennium. Also, some have died more than once BEFORE the 1844 judgment.

All blessings,

Ron

Subject: Re: Regeneration

The theory of Regeneration is not without mysteries, just as the Godhead is not without mystery elements. The Bible statements on THE SECOND DEATH pose a distinct problem as regards the great multitude that are lost. I am asking God to answer that problem for me. The problem is that if the wicked died in a past age to be raised again for the IJ and die again before the end of the Millennium, they would appear to die three times. This is the problem that Mr. Johnson had with Regeneration of all men as opposed to only the 144,000.

Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Now, go figure and pray! Pray for answers! Why? Because if Regeneration is not true, Ellen White would be a false prophet by reason of the scenario I showed you previously, to wit:

• Ellen White said that only the final generation living on earth, 144,000 that are translated without seeing death, go into the Temple on Mt. Zion. Early Writings, p. 19

• Rev. 3:10-12 says that Philadelphians, including those of A.D. 1, are made PILLARS [TEACERS] IN THE TEMPLE.

• If Regeneration is not correct, then Ellen White would be a false prophet, and this cannot be because God promised the gift of prophecy to the true church till all come into unity.

Also, all mankind who lived prior to the availablity of the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit, prior to the cross, would not have the same advantage in overcoming sin as those who were thereafter granted that gift if they would accept it.
