180. My Vision on Mathew 13 Tares

Versus

Separation From Apostasy

Did you ever wonder why there have been so many historical separations from apostasy, when Matthew 13 says that the tares are not to be separated from the wheat until the harvest—the end of the world? This Sunday, a.m. June 17, 2018, I supplicated the Lord with questions on the matter of the harvest and separation from apostasy. I was given the following answers which clarify this important matter more than it has ever been understood heretofore. A careful study of this manuscript will provide knowledge of serious factors regarding separation that many Seventh-day Adventists have never considered.

Mat 13:34  All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:

Mat 13:35   That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

Mat 13:36   Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

Mat 13:37   He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

Mat 13:38   The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

Mat 13:39   The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

Mat 13:40   As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

Mat 13:41   The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

Mat 13:42   And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Mat 13:43  Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Mat 13:44   Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Mat 13:45  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:

Mat 13:46   Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Mat 13:47   Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

Mat 13:48   Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

Mat 13:49   So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

Mat 13:50   And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Mat 13:51   Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.

Mat 13:52   Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

Mat 13:53   And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.

Mat 13:54   And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

Mat 13:55   Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

Mat 13:56   And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

Mat 13:57   And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

Mat 13:58   And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

Jesus Himself said that the tares would not be fully separated from the wheat until the harvest which is the end of the world. By this declaration, one would immediately conclude that there should have been no separations in the church over the centuries from Christ’s day to the end-time harvest.

Historical fact reveals that there have been numerous separations involving God’s church through the ages, so we know that Christ had other factors in mind when Matthew 13 was first penned.

Ellen White recited the same refrain on the tares in Christ’s Object Lessons, pp. 70-75. In Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 81, Ellen White said that the gold would be separated from the dross in the church at the time of the National Sunday Law test. Ellen White also taught that we should join no new movement in Selected Messages, Bk. 1, pp. 204-205. Ellen White also stated:

When the mission of the gospel is completed, the judgment will accomplish the work of separation.… When the work of the gospel is completed, there immediately follows the separation between the good and the evil, and the destiny of each class is forever fixed." (Christ’s Object Lessons, pp. 122, 123).

What is often not taken into consideration is the exceptions Ellen White and the Bible make on the issue of separation, which should spark more study of the issue than many are willing to pursue. Both God and Ellen White obviously factored in more than Matthew 13, in their reasoning on the matter of separation from apostate churches.

Ellen White teaches in Desire of Ages, p. 232, the following EXCEPTIONS to separation of the wheat from the tares BEFORE the final end-time harvest: Jesus “gathered out” those who would take the gospel to the world. DA 232.

1.    The disciples gathered out all true Christians from the apostate Jewish organized church.

2.    True Reformers in every succeeding generation have separated from the church of their fathers for one reason: The ecclesiastical leaders would not tolerate light. DA 232.

3.    Ellen White supported the Protestant Reformation during which many separated from the Catholic Church. GC

4.    Ellen White supported the separation from fallen Protestant churches since 1844. EW

5.    Ellen White suggested that there might be the need for another coming out.

6.    Ellen White said to leave those who work on wrong principles.

7.    Ellen White said that all the ancient prophets wrote more for us than the Jews. The reason that is true is because we have the example of the mistakes of God’s first chosen people.

8.    Since the all the ancient prophets wrote more for us than the Jews, consider this: God’s Word specifies that a remnant would separate and “go out from Jerusalem,” as well as out of Babylon. Isaiah 37:31, 32. This is of huge importance in light of Matthew 13. This shed’s extreme light on Ellen White’s statement that there might be the need of another coming out. God’s Word says that there is a FINAL COMING OUT OF A REMNANT FROM JERUSALEM—that would be “spiritual Jerusalem” the SDA church, in an end-time application. God showed me that these verses do indeed have an end-time application.

Scripture evidence that reveals that the disciples “gathered out” all faithful Christians from the apostate Jewish organization into home churches:

The seven churches of Revelation Chapters 2 and 3 are evidence of separated churches from the apostate organization at Jerusalem.

Scripture on Home Churches

Act 16:32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

Act 16:34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

Act 16:40 And they went out of the prison, and entered into [the house of] Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.

Act 18:7 And he departed thence, and entered into a certain [man's] house, named Justus, [one] that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.

Rom 16:5 Likewise [greet] the church that is in their house. Salute my well beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.

1Cr 1:11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them [which are of the house] of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

1Cr 16:15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and [that] they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)

1Cr 16:19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

Ellen White on Home Churches in the Alpha Heresy

When the young men and women were kept away from the Alpha of apostasy in the church, what did they do and where did they meet for worship? Were the young men and women to go to one church, while their parents went to another?

"There is a little hope in one direction: Take the young men and women, and place them where they will come as little in contact with our churches as possible, that the low grade of piety which is current in this day shall not leaven their ideas of what it means to be a Christian." E.G. White, Manuscript Release #995, p. 5.

"Brother and sister Haskell have rented a house in one of the best parts of the city, and have gathered round them a family of helpers, who day by day go out giving Bible readings, selling our papers, and doing medical missionary work. During the hour of worship, the workers relate their experiences. Bible studies are regularly conducted in the home, and THE YOUNG MEN AND YOUNG WOMEN connected with the mission receive a practical, thorough training in holding Bible readings and in selling our publications. The Lord has blessed their labors, a number have embraced the truth, and many others are deeply interested." Review and Herald, September 7, 1905, Evangelism, p. 108.

I have had folk protest to me that Christ never left the church of His day! Notice:

Jesus Left

"Christ was a protestant...The Reformers date back to Christ and the apostles. They came out and separated themselves from a religion of forms and ceremonies. Luther and his followers did not invent the reformed religion. They simply accepted it as presented by Christ and the apostles." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 2, 48, col. 2.

Paul Left

"And as they persisted in their rejection of the gospel the apostle (Paul) went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus." Acts, 19:8, 9.

"Fearing that the faith of the believers would be endangered by continued association with these opposers of the truth, Paul separated from them, and gathered the disciples into a distinct body." E.G. White, Acts of the Apostles, p. 286.

Did Jesus Violate His Own Counsel in Matthew 13?

At about this point, some might be tempted to think that Jesus violated His own directive in Matthew 13, that the tares would dwell with the wheat until the harvest, which is at the end of the world. I wondered about that myself. So, I asked my angel about this “apparent” contradiction. Actually, I was shown this part years ago, but I was reminded of it as being the solution to the dilemma.

God showed me that a very important factor on separation that differs from Matthew 13, is the THORN factor of Luke 8:7, 14:

Luk 8:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

Luk 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

Important qualifications in the above verses:

·       Thorns CHOKE the other grain and kill it.

·       Thorns are they who have heard the truth, but disregard it for the cares, riches and pleasures of this life.

·       I was shown that THORNS are open sinners who sin against the truth they once heard.

·       Ellen White said that open sinners are to be separated from the church if they refuse to reform.

·       The Bible and Ellen White indict the leaders as being the “ring-leaders” in apostasy.

·       Isaiah 56:10-12 and Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 211, say that the “dumb-dog” watchmen (LEADERS) will never again cry aloud to show the people, THE HOUSE OF JACOB, their sins.

·       How could there be a revival and reformation if the leaders won’t show the people their sins?

·       God made the same declaration (Isa. 56:10-12) against the Jewish leaders. Did they revive and reform their members?

·       For the above reasons, Isaiah 37:31, 32 is literally fulfilled again, and as Ellen White said, applies more to us than the Jews.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for the Wheat to Mature Amongst THORNS

The SDA Bible Commentary was written before the 1957 apostasy of the church. M. L. Andreasen was a contributor. The following statement defines the difference between THORN and TARES. Ellen White defines tares as insincere believers whose motives one would have to judge in order to uproot them. COL. pp. 70-72.

"Thorns sprung up.--The thorns made it impossible for the wheat to mature (see Luke 8:14). In the same way secular interests prevent the fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22, 23) from reaching maturity. Religion is relegated to the subordinate position of being only one interest among many. For lack of cultivation it withers and eventually dies. That which the thorny-ground hearers lack is a moral transformation. [E.G. White, Christ's Object Lessons,  p. 50]  To them, justification is the sum and substance of religion, and they fail to realize that the Christian life consists essentially in the process known as sanctification--the process by which evil traits and tendencies are replaced by the perfect life-pattern of Jesus Christ." Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary, vol. 5, 405.

This is precisely what New Movement Seventh-day Adventists (Selected Messages, vol. 1, 204-205), teaches—that there is no final generation that is perfected—no bride, 144,000 who are without fault (Rev. 14:1-4); that it is impossible to overcome sin this side of glorification with the aid of the Divine Nature which Christ proffered us in II Peter 1:4.

Church as the Field Where the Wheat can Grow and Ripen Amongst Mere Tares but Not With Thorns

In the following statement Ellen White is referring directly to the parable of the field in Matthew 13. That parable deals with TARES only. It is possible for the wheat to grow and mature among tares (insincere believers WHO ARE NOT OPEN SINNERS), but it is IMPOSSIBLE for wheat to mature amongst THORNS (open sinning apostates who bring the world into the church).

My angel showed me that most Adventists have not made the distinction between the tares referred to in the following statement as compared to THORNS which choke and kill the wheat so that it cannot mature. Most SDA’s conclude that the statement means we can grow and ripen (mature) amongst any type of tare in the church, but that IS NOT THE CASE, and that is the solvent to the mystery as to why Christ said the tares are not separated from the wheat until the harvest which is the end of the world. But the wise virgins will distinguish between tares and THORNS. All who cannot make this distinction are foolish virgins, and they will not be saved.

"The 'field,' Christ said, 'is the world.' But we must understand this as signifying the church of Christ in the world. The parable is a description of that which pertains to the kingdom of God, His work of salvation of men and this work is accomplished through the church. True, the Holy Spirit has gone out into all the world everywhere it is moving upon the hearts of men but it is in the church that we are to grow and ripen for the garner of God." Christ's Object Lessons, p. 70.

The Lord will not write as wise those who cannot distinguish between a tree that bears thorn-berries and a tree that bears olives.” {EGW, RH, September 7, 1897 par. 15}

"It is IMPOSSIBLE for you to unite with those who are corrupt, and still remain pure. (II Corinthians 6:14-15 quoted). God and Christ and the heavenly host would have men know that if he unites with the corrupt he will become corrupt." E. G. White, Review and Herald, Vol. 4, p. 137.

The Lord will not write as wise those who cannot distinguish between a tree that bears thorn-berries and a tree that bears olives.

"Even though you may not be able to speak a word to those who are working on wrong principles, leave them. Your withdrawal and silence may do more than words. Nehemiah refused to associate with those who were untrue to principle, and he would not permit his workmen to associate with them. The love and fear of God were his safeguard-Dare to be a Daniel, Dare to stand alone. Thus as did Moses, you will endure the seeing of Him who is invisible. But a cowardly and silent reserve before evil associates, while you listen to their devices makes you one with them. Come out from among them and be separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." Review & Herald Vol. 4, p. 42.

My Angel showed me that below is the principle from which the above SOP statement is cited:

Eze 12:1  The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying,

Eze 12:2   Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.

Eze 12:3  Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they be a rebellious house.

Eze 12:4   Then shalt thou bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing: and thou shalt go forth at even in their sight, as they that go forth into captivity.

Eze 12:5   Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby.

Eze 12:6   In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, and carry it forth in the twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground: for I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel.

Eze 12:7  And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the even I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought it forth in the twilight, and I bare it upon my shoulder in their sight.

If God has any new light to communicate, He will let His chosen and beloved understand it, without their going to have their minds enlightened by hearing those who are in darkness and error. {EW 124.2}

I was shown the necessity of those who believe that we are having the last message of mercy, being separate from those who are daily imbibing new errors. I saw that neither young nor old should attend their meetings; for it is wrong to thus encourage them while they teach error that is a deadly poison to the soul and teach for doctrines the commandments of men. The influence of such gatherings is not good. If God has delivered us from such darkness and error, we should stand fast in the liberty wherewith He has set us free and rejoice in the truth. God is displeased with us when we go to listen to error, without being obliged to go; for unless He sends us to those meetings where error is forced home to the people by the power of the will, He will not keep us. The angels cease their watchful care over us, and we are left to the buffetings of the enemy, to be darkened and weakened by him and the power of his evil angels; and the light around us becomes contaminated with the darkness.” {EW 124.3}

If wheat and thorns could dwell together until the harvest at the end of the world, then there should never have been a separation from any apostate body including the apostate Jewish church from A.D. 34, from Roman Catholicism in the Reformation, and from apostate Protestantism in 1844.

In the Old Testament, apostasy was dealt with by killing all the apostates who would not repent, and/or leaving them to sacrifice on one's own at home. Moses had all the apostates killed and he removed the tabernacle from the congregation until this was done.

Anciently, God separated Abraham and Lot from apostasy. And in the first civilized settlement of Shiloh, after the Hebrews emerged from the Sinai desert, there were faithful folk who worshipped amongst themselves rather than incur in any manner the abominations practiced in the Sanctuary by the recreant leaders:

"The recreant priests added licentiousness to the dark catalogue of their crimes yet they still polluted by their presence the tabernacle of the Lord, and, laden with sin, dared to come into the presence of a holy God. As the men of Israel witnessed the corrupt course of the priests, they thought it safer for their families not to come up to the appointed place of worship. Many went from Shiloh with their peace disturbed, their indignation aroused, until they at last determined to offer their sacrifices themselves, concluding that this would be fully as acceptable to God, as to sanction in any manner the abominations practiced in the Sanctuary." E.G. White, The Signs of the Times, vol. 1, p. 264, col. 3, December 1, 1881.

A Word to the wise virgins is sufficient on this all important issue of when to separate from an apostate church. There are two Noble Ships, and most SDA’s are aware of only the ONE the leaders tell them about. I listened to a video by Walter Veith yesterday, in which he alluded to only ONE SHIP, and instructed His hearers to remain on that ship. I will tell you about BOTH SHIPS:

"We are not saved as a sect; no denominational name [Ship] has any virtue to bring us into favor with God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 2, p. 464.

SDA Pastor Jack Sequeira: "Christ will never take us to heaven as individuals, but only as members of His church." Jack Sequeira, Beyond Belief, p. 115, published by Pacific Press, a Seventh-day Adventist publishing house.

Which Ship

Defective Ship: We can know that if a ship has false teaching it will not survive the rigors of the ocean of strife and turmoil: "You have had too great confidence in the ability of these men. A ship may be sound in nearly every respect but if there is one defect,--a bit of timber worm-eaten,--the lives of all on board are imperiled." E.G. White, Testimonies, vol. 4, 322.

Ship Drifting at Sea Without Chart or Compass: "The facts concerning the real condition of the professed people of God, speak more loudly than their profession, and make it evident that some power has cut the cable that anchored them to the Eternal Rock, and that they are drifting away to sea, without chart or compass." E.G. White, Selected Messages, vol. 2, p. 128, (Review and Herald, Vol. 2, p. 231). (Also see Fundamentals of Christian Education, p. 348).

"The people to whom God has entrusted eternal interests, the depositaries of truth pregnant with eternal results, the keepers of light that is to illuminate the whole world, have lost their bearings." Testimonies to Ministers, p. 397.

"Every ship sailing the sea of life needs to have the divine Pilot on board but when storms arise, when tempests threaten, many persons push their Pilot overboard, and commit their bark into the hand of finite man, or try to steer it themselves. Then disaster and wreckage generally follow, and the Pilot is blamed for running them into such dangerous waters." E.G. White, Fundamentals of Christian Education, p. 348.

Is the Pilot on board the SDA New Movement, New Organization Ship described in Selected Messages, vol. 1, 204-5? Page 205 says He [God] has been removed! Which of the following TWO NOBLE SHIPS ARE YOU ON?

Noble Ship #1: "I lately read of a NOBLE SHIP that was plowing its way across the sea, when at midnight, with a terrific crash, it struck upon a rock; the passengers were awakened only to see with horror their hopeless condition, and with the ship they sank to rise no more. The MAN AT THE HELM [VERSUS CHRIST] had mistaken the beacon light, and hundreds of souls were at a moment's warning launched into eternity." E.G. White, Selected Messages, vol. 2, 128.

Noble Ship #2: "There is no need to doubt, to be fearful that the work will not succeed. God is at the head of the work, and He will set everything in order. If matters need adjusting at the head of the work, God will attend to that, and work to right every wrong. Let us have faith that God is going to carry the noble ship which bears the people of God safely into port." E.G. White, Selected Messages, vol. 2, 390.

"The enemy of souls has sought to bring in the supposition that a great reformation was to take place among Seventh-day Adventists, and that this reformation would consist in giving up the doctrines which stand as the pillars of our faith, and engaging in a process of reorganization. Were this reformation to take place, what would result? The principles of truth that God in His wisdom has given to the remnant church, would be discarded. Our religion would be changed. The fundamental principles that have sustained the work for the last fifty years would be accounted as error. A NEW ORGANIZATION would be established. Books of a new order would be written. A system of intellectual philosophy would be introduced. The founders of this system would go into the cities, and do a wonderful work. The Sabbath of course, would be lightly regarded, as also the God who created it. Nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the NEW MOVEMENT. The leaders would teach that virtue is better than vice, but God being removed, they would place their dependence on human power, which, without God, is worthless. Their foundation would be built on the sand, and storm and tempest would sweep away the structure.

WHO HAS AUTHORITY TO BEGIN SUCH A [NEW] MOVEMENT? We have our Bibles. We have our experience, attested to by the miraculous working of the Holy Spirit. We have a truth that admits of no compromise. Shall we not repudiate everything that is not in harmony with this truth?" E.G. White, Selected Messages, Vol. 1, 204-205.

"We cannot now step off the foundation that God has established. We cannot now enter into any new organization for this would mean apostasy from the truth.--Manuscript 1290, 1905. Selected Messages, vol. 2, 390.

In light of all the statements involving a ship, we must interpret them all so that none contradict. The best way to achieve this goal is to look for qualifying words. In the above statement the qualifying words are NOBLE SHIP and THE PEOPLE OF GOD. Who are the people of God? Those who keep His commandments and heed the Laodicean message.

Change Leaders and Know it Not:

Change Leaders: "There is manifested on the part of men in responsible positions an unwillingness to confess where they have been in the wrong and their neglect is working disaster, not only to themselves, but to the churches....You will be left to make mistakes of a similar character, you will continue to lack wisdom, and will call sin righteousness and righteousness sin. The multitude of deceptions that will prevail in these last days will encircle you, and you will change leaders, and not know that you have done so." E.G. White, Review and Herald, Vol. 2, 448.

Change Leaders: "Men in positions of responsibility are in danger of changing leaders. This I know, for it has been plainly revealed to me." E.G. White, Series B, #2, p. 48.

Change Leaders: "Men who might have stood in clear light, doing valiant service as ministers of the gospel and medical missionaries, have been accepting false theories and sophistries which originated with the father of lies, and yet they do not realize that they have changed." E.G. White, Special Testimonies, Series B, #7, p. 13-16, November 20, 1905.

Change Leaders: "Satan will set up his hellish banner right in your homes, and you will be so blinded to the real nature of his deceptions that you reverence it as the banner of Christ." E.G. White, The 1888 Materials, p. 505.

Change Leaders: "They will not recognize him [Satan] as their enemy, that old serpent, but they will consider him a FRIEND, one who is doing a good work." Testimonies, vol. 5, p. 294.

Change Leaders: Satan has laid his plans to undermine our faith in the history of the cause and work of God. I am deeply in earnest as I write this. Satan is working with men in prominent positions to sweep away the foundation of our faith. Shall we allow this to be done, brethren?" E.G. White, Review and Herald, Nov. 19, 1903.

Change Leaders if Mistakes are not Admitted and Changed: "If when the Lord reveals your errors you do not repent or make confession, his providence will bring you over the ground again and again. You will be left to make mistakes of a similar character, you will continue to lack wisdom, and will call sin righteousness, and righteousness sin. The multitude of deceptions that will prevail in these last days will encircle you, and you will CHANGE LEADERS, AND NOT KNOW THAT YOU HAVE DONE SO." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 2, p. 449.

Change Leaders: "Satan has COME IN with his specious temptations, and has led the professed followers of Christ away from the [PILOT] Leader (Christ), classing them with the foolish virgins." Testimonies to Ministers, p. 130.

Change Leaders: "Refusing to follow in the path of obedience, they transferred their allegiance to Satan. The enemy rejoiced in his success in effacing the divine image from the minds of the people that God had chosen as His representatives. Through [ECUMENICAL] intermarriage with idolaters and CONSTANT ASSOCIATION WITH THEM [Isa. 8:9-20], Satan brought about that for which he had long been working,--a national apostasy." Fundamentals to Christian Education, p. 449.

Change Leaders: "The recreant priests added licentiousness to the dark catalogue of their crimes yet they still polluted by their presence the tabernacle of the Lord, and, laden with sin, dared to come into the presence of a holy God.

MAJOR CONCLUSION:

It is at the harvest, the end of the world, that the INSINCERE TARES are separated from the church. They are folk whose motives we would have to JUDGE in order to uproot them. We cannot uproot them because only God can JUDGE the heart. This matter of tares is very different from OPEN SIN THORNS, which make it IMPOSSIBLE for the wheat to mature. They choke and kill the wheat before it can mature. It is IMPOSSIBLE to unite with them and mature, and/or remain/become pure. This is the reason why there have been so many separations in the history of the Christian church. Most Adventists misinterpret Matthew 13 and who is separated from whom at the end-time harvest. Thus, they think they have to remain member of an apostate church to be saved, and the truth is just the opposite.
